What is the action to be taken by a Treasury Officer when he finds cheques presented by a Divisional Officer exceed the permissible limit specified in the letter or credit ?

None of them

The cheques are to be returned to the presentor uncashed

He shall request the Finance Dept. to provide more funds by letter of credit

He should retain them without payment till sufficient funds are placed by letter of issue to cover them
