A Divisional Forest Officer issues a cheque on treasury for repayment of part of an earnest money deposit received by him. Is this procedure correct ?

No. EMD should never be repaid in parts. The repayment should be by endorsing his order on the treasury receipt

No. Instead of cheque, repayment order should be on the treasury receipt of EMD
